Race Report: Spectro Round Two Gold Coast
Rider: Richard Pearce 92
Team: Team Green/Tony Jury M/cs
Bike: Kawasaki kx65
Sunday morning the Family and I got up early to head off to Foxton for Spectro Round 2. We arrived to fog and a cold start to the morning and set up the Tony Jury tent. Then Shane and I went for a walk around the track to have a look at lines as Dad is still on Crutches. This is a track I do not like too much as it is narrow and pine trees are two feet from the racing line.
Race 1: Was in the fog, which was a new thing for me, my starts I am still shy of so wasnt right up there. I stayed middle of the pack all the way.
Race 2: By this time the fog was starting to dissappear, and my start wasnt to bad except I got to the first corner and backed off which is something I have to work on. I fell off when a rider crashed in front of me and I had no where else to go, and then I washed the front wheel out, which made me fall back in the pack.
Race 3: Same as above for my start but this time I kept at the same place the whole race, which meant I was starting to actually enjoy the day, a lot of riders were going down and crashing into each other or the trees.
Race 4: I didnt have a bad start and each lap I got faster and faster. I battled hard with number 42 which I passed eventually.
We packed up and went home and gave all my gear a clean and my bike to get a lot of sand off it, dad is going to finish cleaning my bike tomorrow.
I havent been doing a lot of racing so that is why my starts are not the best, so dad said he will work on my starts with me during the week.
