Race Report: Spectro Round Three Manawatu
Rider: Richard Pearce 92
Team: Team Green/Tony Jury M/cs
Bike: Kawasaki kx65
Sunday morning the family and I got up early to head off to Manawatu for spectro Round Three. We arrived to rain and wind and set up the Tony Jury tent. Then Dad and I went for a walk around the track to have a look at lines and there was a couple jumps in the track.
Race 1: My start was not too bad with 7th around first corner out of 21 bikes. So I put my head down and had worked my way up to 2nd place by the end of the race so that was a good start for the day.
Race 2: I got a great start but then had to go wide as 3 bikes went down, I ended up going through the bunting which put me 2nd to last. This meant I had a lot of ground to make up if I wanted to finish up at front. So I rode as fast as I could, but I had to be careful as bikes were going down as it had just rained. I managed to take the lead with 2 laps to go and then they gave the white flag to someone else (The boys father went and said you gave the flag to the wrong person.) so we ended up doing 2 extra laps then they gave me the chequered flag.
Race 3: Got a good start , Then got taken out and some how my chain got broken so that was a DNF for that race.
Race 4: The last race of the day by now I was feeling a bit sick so I went and did my best and managed to finish in 6th place. So overall it wasn't too bad of a day.
We packed up and watched the vets and one junior race, then we headed off home.
